About
Susan Ryan holds the first Stetson University endowed dean position – the Betty Drees Johnson Dean of the duPont-Ball Library & Learning Technologies. She administers a staff of seven faculty librarians and 14 support staff. She is responsible for all areas of library administration, including library strategic planning, budgets, development, and marketing. She serves on the Cabinets of both the Stetson President and Provost.
Ryan’s most recent publications and presentations have focused on innovation and emerging learning technologies. The library has won two innovation awards for 3D printing curricular collaborations with teaching faculty and has recently expanded its Innovation Lab.
During the last few years, Ryan has increasingly focused her attention on the University archives and special collections. She serves as curator for the large Senator Max Cleland and Congressman Clay Shaw collections (which include tens of thousands of photographs and thousands of pieces of memorabilia), as well as for a number of smaller special collections. Ryan established the University’s large digital archives which stores electronic copies of University publications, photographs, and memorabilia.
