Kate began her library career in the Alachua County Library District as a page, working her way up through the ranks at the Millhopper Branch, Youth Services Department, and finally as their graphic designer before moving to the First Coast and joining the St. Johns County School District. Kate spent eight years at Pedro Menendez High School, providing engaging activities for students including crafts, makerspace activities, coding lessons, and after-school YA movie release parties with Alex Phillips from the St. Johns County Public Library System. She is now at Palm Valley Academy, a K-8 school, providing a younger crowd with fun storytimes and makerspace/STEM activities. Kate can provide help and information in K-12 programming and lesson plans, including coding and STEM activities.
